Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national mortgage company headquartered in the UTC area of San Diego, California, is seeking a Correspondent Purchase Reviewer in our San Diego, CA and Pittsburgh, PA locations.

This position will review and facilitate the purchase of loans through the Correspondent business channel.



The following job functions are not all-inclusive.  The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.


  1. Review of closing and compliance documents to determine accuracy, proper execution and completeness.
  2. Review final conditions provided to determine they meet requirements and either sign off or recondition if not satisfactory.
  3. Verify Hazard Insurance fulfills requirements
  4. Verify Demand is current
  5. Verify Impounds collected are accurate
  6. Review final Hud-1 to determine it is accurate and all fees reflect properly
  7. Coordinate with Underwriter on conditions they may need to review
  8. Coordinate final purchase and delivery of collateral with Accounting Dept. and warehouse
  9. Confirm loan will be purchased by commitment date or refer to manager for negotiation
  10. Prioritizes file review as directed by management according to purchase, refi, lock expiration, program, etc.
  11. Independent management of assigned pipeline.
  12. Written and verbal communication of outstanding conditions to affect the purchase of the loans.
  13. Other duties as assigned.


This position requires a high school degree or equivalent with current knowledge of the mortgage banking industry and a minimum of two (2) years experience funding government and conventional loans. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work, the ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a high paced environment with heavy volume of transactions. Additional qualifications required include a solid commitment to customer and employee service, outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills, and incumbent must possess the ability to work in both a team and individual environment. Position also requires proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and knowledge of internet browsers. Incumbent must be able to use independent judgment skills to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures, have doc prep and compliance experience, and be willing to work over-time hours as needed.
